Sawyer is 7 Months Old

7 Months old seems harder to write about than the other months at this point.  It's the number on the other side of 6.... which means she is closer to being one rather than a newborn.  I feel like I just blinked and she's shot to 7 months overnight.  Sawyer's getting so big, and yet at the same time she's still just my little baby.

Sweet girl:
- You are still my little cuddle-bug!  I'm so glad that you have not outgrown this!  I love that we can snuggle up together and nap.  And I love that you still want me to hold you and cuddle with you.
- This past month you have become a more consistent napper throughout the day which is awesome!  You take about 3 one to one & a half hour naps each day.  And you are sleeping about 10 to 11 hours each night.
- You are rolling around like a champ, but you still haven't figured out how to crawl... and I'm totally okay with that.  I know you'll get it in your own time, but for now I'm enjoying that "baby" aspect still.
- You still love your family.  You light up anytime you see Daddy, Mommy, or Kennedie!  You have started showing signs of "separation anxiety," but for now you will still let some people hold you.
- Feeding.  You are still breastfeeding 5 times a day every 3& 1/2 hours or so.  But, you have also added some solids into your diet this month.  You started solids about a week after you turned 6 months.  You have had rice cereal, peas, green beans, avocados, sweet potatoes and even some apple juice.  You really like rice cereal, peas, and sweet potatoes.  You are okay with green beans, and kinda okay with avocados.  Funny- your sister LOVED avocados  and didn't care for sweet potatoes.  You eat small portions of solids 3 times a day.
- Unfortunately with your new diet you've developed new "potty problems."  Your stool is very hard and you are pretty constipated.  We are working with the doctor to try and solve this problem.
- You can sit up by yourself for just a few minutes if you really concentrate, but I would not say it's official yet. :)
- You have been patting things lately.  It's so cute.  You'll pat me, you'll pat the table, you'll pat a toy.
- You will sometimes put your right hand on the back of your neck.  We call it your "diva" pose.  SO adorable.
- Still no teeth.
- Although you have been "talking" for several months now, this last week you have really started "jabbering" so much!  You just talk and talk and talk.  It's so cute! No official words yet. :)
-  You are still my blue-eyed, brown curly headed girl.  So pretty!
- Your right eye is still "leaking" and we'll have to go to the doctor in a few weeks to hopefully have them "fix" it.  Although I have noticed that it hasn't been quit as bad the past week.
- You are wearing a few of your larger 3-6 month clothes, but you have mostly found your way into the 6-9 month clothing and believe it or not some 12 month clothing.  I had to get down Kennedie's old bin of summer 12 month clothing for you to wear this last month or so of summer.  There is no way that you'll fit in her 12 month summer clothing next summer, and so I hate for a few of those outfits to go to "waste" and you not get to wear some of them.  It makes me sad that you guys definitely don't match up in the size/season clothing department.  You are flying through clothes so much faster than your sister... it's okay- you are just a bigger girl & growing much faster.  :)  Before you know it I think you'll out grow her and be passing down your clothes to her.  :)

My sweet daughter, I love you so much I can't even put it into words.  You are such a ray of light in my day and I'm so grateful that you are mine.  I love that we can snuggle up together- just the two of us.  The fact that you are so cuddle-y is one of my most favorite things about you, and something that I hold very dear to my heart.  I will always treasure our  moments of snuggle time.  Every day it seems you become more and more alert and aware of your surroundings.  I love to watch you just look around at everything and take everything in.  You especially like to watch your sister and see what she is up to.  I love you so much baby girl, and I thank God for you daily.

Sawyer & Solids

A week after Sawyer turned 6 months we finally started her on solids.  I know... we waited awhile to start her on them.  We just were not in a hurry at all.  She has been totally content with my milk, and lets face it, we were not worried about her weight gain.  :)  She is one healthy baby in that department. Ha!  So here are a few pictures of her with her first try at some rice cereal:

Since then we've come along way.  She loves her some rice cereal now!  She also love peas.  She has also eaten green beans and avocados, & she's done okay with them, but I don't think they are on the "favorites" list yet.  I make her baby food, and I'm so glad that I do.  I know exactly what's going in it, and it's much cheaper.  I think we'll try carrots or sweet potatoes next.

We have had some "poop" issues though.  She's been pretty constipated (we've also done some watered down apple juice to try to relieve her some).  She is "going," but it's been a little "hard" for her if you know what I mean.  :)  Anyways, we are working on it and talking to the doctor about it.

Whether it's milk or solids, one things for sure, she's like her Momma- she likes to eat!

Sawyer's 6 Month Portraits

Finally got these taken this morning... just a few weeks late... oh well.  Better late than never.  Lantz & Kennedie did a great job helping Mommy take these.... we love this sweet girl so much!

Sleeping Beauty.....

Because sometimes a girl's gotta nap where a girl's gotta nap....

With Kennedie and Sawyer sharing a room there are a few occasions where I know Kennedie is sleeping lightly and I don't want to disturb her... which means when it's Sawyer's nap time sometimes she gets to sleep in random places- the living room floor, our bed, the couch, the office floor, but my favorite is when she falls asleep on me.

One things for sure though- there is nothing sweeter than a sleeping baby.

I feel like I don't share as many pictures of Kennedie lately.... there is a reason for that though.  She is at the phase where she doesn't even want to look my direction when I'm holding my camera.  I can't even be discreet with it.  I try to catch her just playing and it's like she has a 6th sense that I've gotten it out and she immediately buries her face in the floor.  It's okay though-  I'm slowly learning the art of bribery and we're getting more and more shots. :)

Anywho.... my little 2 year old is so much fun.  She is now 2 & 1/4 years old.  It's amazing what a few months will do.  She is such a little talker, & I love that we can have conversations.  Her favorite thing to ask is "What aww you doing?" (Almost annoyingly), she asks this ALL.DAY.LONG.  Even when she knows what I'm doing.  It's cute {most of the time}.  She also likes to ask where someone is at, like, "Where's Daddy?", "Where's Sawger?", "Where's Mommy?" Where's Bee?"  ... even when she knows the answer.  She also likes to tell us that she'll be "wight back" (right back) in "two minutes."  Adorable.  She can also count to 11 and has started trying to sing her ABC's.

Sweet girl can't get the potty training thing down though.  I'm partly convinced it's my fault though- I just haven't 100% committed to the process.  She wears her panties around the house, and diapers out in public and to bed.  She still messes in her diapers and doesnt' let us know when she has to go.  Even when she is in her panties she doesn't really tell us... sometimes she will, but for the most part I just have to remember to go stick her on the potty or watch for her "potty cues."  We'll get there... eventually.

Last week she moved to the big 2 year old Bible class at church.  I was so happy for her because she seemed to LOVE it, but I was also a little sad to see her out of the "baby" class.  It was also sad because Kennedie & Sawyer were in cradle roll together for the last 6 months and it was hard for me to watch them go in separate classes (but I think it's good for both of them).  I got Kennedie really excited about her new big girl Bible class, but she kept asking if Sawyer was going to go to the new Bible class.  I had to explain that Sawyer was staying in the baby class.  I was worried that she wouldn't do well with the change, but she was a rock star!  She loved getting to learn about the Israelites in the dessert and how they got manna from heaven daily.  We've been going through her Bible lesson every day and also trying to say her Bible verse from class-- she has been loving it.

Kennedie's sleeping has changed a bit.   I've been letting her sleep in to about 8:30am instead of 8:00.  She has only been taking one nap lately and it's only about an hour & a half long.  Because of the lack of napping we've upped bath and bedtime some.  We used to start giving the girls baths at 8:45 and now we've started about 8:15.... which puts them in bed a little earlier.

Kennedie is a great eater.  She pretty much eats anything except cheese.  She's funny about cheese.  She does not like cheese slices or cheese sticks or cheese cubes.  She sometimes wants shredded cheese, and she sometimes doesn't.  But she'll eat melted cheese-- like on pizza or a grilled cheese.  ??  Funny- the girl will eat salad and brussel sprouts, but she won't eat cheese... go figure.

Kennedie has started to play with Sawyer... and torment her too.  I think they are slowly becoming "sisters" and not just roommates.  I LOVE it.  Last night Kennedie was making Sawyer laugh so hard - and the two of them just sat and giggled at each other for the longest time.  It was precious.  It's moments like that that I'm so grateful our girls are so close in age.... it far outweighs the stress that it sometimes causes.

I just needed to take a minute and document my sweet little girl!  Kennedie is such a good girl.  She's so much fun and she is definitely high energy.  I'm grateful every day for her and who she is growing to be.

Thank you Father for my sweet Kennedie.  Help me to truly soak up every minute with her.  She is so wonderful and I'm so grateful for her Lord.

Kennedie's Eyes

So... I wanted to document Kennedie's eyes.  I know that sounds funny, but I kinda think they are changing colors and I wanted to show you {and have it for myself to look back on one day} how they are looking now a days.  They used to be a bright blue, but not quit as bright as Sawyer's.  Now, they seem to be more of a grey-blue... almost a dingy color.  I took the following pictures a few weeks ago-- I was just trying to focus on her eyes, so ignore the ill-positions, or food on her face, or her messy hair, or my messy house :), or the lack of clothing, etc.... I tried to take some pictures in different lighting so I could document exactly how they looked.

More on Kennedie coming soon.....
