Love my girls!

Sometimes Kennedie likes to hold Sawyer all by herself.  Sawyer is a good sport most of the time.  :)

4th of July

Yes.  Your point is?  I know it's July 24th, but I still wanted to wish everyone a Happy 4th of July!!!  Only 20 days late.  That's not that bad.  .... Well, I took these pictures and wanted to post them.  Plus, I wanted to show you these ADORABLE little outfits that my mom made for the girls.....

We had a very fun, low key 4th.  We went to McKinney's Red, White, and Boom event with some families from church.  It was relaxing and fun!

Love these sweet little dresses that some friends from church gave the girls.  I just love it when they match. Unfortunately they were not in a picture mood when I took these.  Oh well, they are still adorable!

It's that time again... time to show you that we take lots of pictures, but don't always do a good job about blogging.  So, with all due respect... tons of pictures of our two loves:

Riding Cowboy's tractor

Off of iphone.... at Easter we went to the Feed Store and held the bunnies & ducks....see pic below

The three pictures above and a few below are from Lantz's iphone.  He doesn't clean it off to often, so I had to wait to blog about them.  I love the pictures below so much.  It was Sawyer's first day in Bible class.  Right now the girls are in the same class and it makes me so happy.  Kennedie will move up this fall, but I love the fact that they get to sing songs & learn about God's love together.  Just precious.  This was taken when Sawyer was about 2 months old.

We have been doing ALOT of swimming this summer.  Kennedie has really become such a great little swimmer.  She just kicks all around the pool with her little life jacket.  I really want to try to get her in lessons where she'll learn HOW to swim and not just little play stuff.  Surprisingly Sawyer is such a little water baby.  She is SO happy and content in the water.  She just kicks and splashes & smiles.... don't mind the first picture of the first swim below.... besides that picture she loves the water.  :)

Okay.... that's all that time will allow for now.  More to come later.  :)

Sawyer is 5 Months

WOW.... I think it's just the crazy summer months, but I feel like Sawyer Sue just turned 4 months and then I blinked and now she is 5 months old!  Where does the time go?  I have a hard time wrapping my brain around the fact that this precious little girl is almost a half a year old.  You actually were 5 months old yesterday, but I didn't have a chance to sit and document, so that's why I am a day late.

Sweet little girl:
- You are my little cuddle bug, and I love it!  You still like to be in anyone's arms and you take it for all it's worth.  You will still cuddle up to me and sleep, but you are also good about putting yourself to sleep in your crib.
- I don't think I documented this last month, but between 3 & 4 months you started rolling over (it may have even been between 2 & 3 months.
- You still eat great!  You feed every 3 & 1/2 hours 5 times a day.  I think you take in about 5- 7 ounces  at every feeding based on what I pump.
- Your Daddy & I left you overnight for the first time this month.  We went on the Senior Leadership Retreat for 3 nights.  You stayed one night with Cowboy & Bee & the other two nights Binky came to town and stayed with you & your sister.
- You are still a little drool monster, but no teeth yet!
- You are such a GOOD baby... I mean, beyond good!! Seriously.  I mean, everyone I know who is around you or who has watched you, can't stop talking about what a good baby you are.  You are incredibly easy and laid-back and smiley!  You can just sit and entertain yourself, or sit in a lap & be perfectly content & happy.  I just can't begin to tell you how fun and sweet and easy you are!
-  You take 3 one & a half hour naps a day, and sleep anywhere from 8-10 hours a night depending on how early we get you to bed. :)
- You have really started playing with your toys alot lately.  You love all your little rattles... you just think they are so fun!
- You LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to swim!  You are a little water baby.  Every time we take you to the swimming pool you get so excited.  You just kick your feet and splash the water and smile & laugh the whole time... it's so cute!
- This month you have really become aware of your sister.  You just sit and watch Kennedie and she can just get you to laugh so hard.  It's so precious to see how she just captivates you.
- Your crystal blue eyes and curly dark hair are still here.  You are just gorgeous!
- The biggest most exciting news this month is that you said your first word and it was "Ma-ma."  That's right!!!  Not "da-da" it was "ma-ma!"  You said it on my birthday and it was the greatest present ever!  Even though I'm sure you had no clue what you were saying, you looked right at me and said "ma-ma."  I LOVED it!  You haven't said it or anything else since then, but I'll treasure it always in my heart.
- You have been told that you look like your mommy several times and you've been told that you look like your daddy several times.... I guess the jury is still out.  I vote Mommy!
- You are wearing 3-6 month clothing.
- Your right eye is still  watering pretty heavily.

My sweetest and most precious Sawyer Sue, I am bursting with love for you.  Every day I look at you and am so grateful that out of everyone on this great big earth, I was chosen to be your Mommy.  I feel so grateful.  You are my sweet, sweet, girl and I feel such a deep connection with you.  This month has been especially joyful!  I loved hearing you say my name and I've also loved having people say that you look like me.... My heart just bursts with pride.  You are such a good baby.  You are so kind and so loving.  I feel as though you look at the world around you & just see sunshine & roses!  You are so precious, and I feel like you represent the word "innocence" in every way.  I love you so much darling little girl.

Kennedie's 2 Year Birthday Party

So.... at the end of May, (yes, you read that right- May... that's how far behind I am on my blogging) we had Kennedie's 2 year birthday party.  I'm not going to lie- this party was SO fun.  If you were ever going to copy a party- this is the one to copy.  Seriously.  We had a waffle bar.  Oh my... it was so fun! (And cheap.)  It was mid morning- perfect brunch time.  I came up with the idea because Kennedie LOVES, LOVES, LOVES her some waffles.  It's probably one of her favorite breakfasts.  I really wanted to make it a cutesy party still, but wanted it to be personal for Kennedie since we were celebrating her.

I had a table with waffle makers, waffle batter and bacon, and then a table with toppings and sweets: candy, cookies, cupcakes.  I borrowed some waffle makers from some friends which kept costs low.  Also- waffle batter is SO cheap to make... flour, oil, sugar, etc.  Pretty much everything I already had in my cabinet.  I have an INCREDIBLE waffle recipe that I've used for several years now and I just altered it some to come up with the different waffle batter flavors: original, cinnamon, banana, and chocolate.  The other table had pink wafer cookies, pink & turquoise candy, and my friend Andrea's amazing strawberry cupcakes with strawberry buttercream icing.  It also had all the toppings: blueberries, strawberries, bananas, candied pecans, powdered sugar, butter, peanut butter, sprinkles, and whip cream.  It also had different syrups: original, lite, 100% maple, and maple praline.  Yummo!

It was so fun to watch people mix & match the different batters & toppings.  Most people went back for seconds just to try something different.  I really think that everyone had a great time with it... seriously- if you are looking for a party "theme" I would recommend a waffle bar.  FUN & YUMMY!

I made little treat bags with "bacon & eggs" in them for the "thank you" favor for the guests.  It was so easy & went with the brunch theme.  (Just pretzel sticks, white chocolate, and yellow m&ms)

Most of the decorations were borrowed & free or very cheap.  Got an old fence from someone for free & painted it turquoise with paint left from Kennedie's big girl bed, pink tissue paper pom-poms leftover from a baby shower, frames from my garage & grandmother's garage painted pink & turquoise, jars from my sister's wedding, material on sale, used my grandmothers antique table, a friend from church let me have/borrow the pink & turquoise plates, mason jars borrowed from my grandmother, etc... all very inexpensive/free.  After now throwing/hosting several parties my philosophy is borrow as much as you can.  There is no need to spend alot of money to make a party cute.  It can be done on a very low scale budget if you just evaluate the things you already have & borrow other items that you may not own.

Anywho.... enough of me rambling.  Here are some of the pictures.  If you want to see people & present pictures you'll have to check out my pictures on Facebook.
