Sorry for the lack of blogging. Last week we were blessed to hang out with our sweet friends Lindsay & Clark Chance... One of the perks of being back in Texas- getting to be BFF again with one of your BFFs from youth group/ high school/ college/ club! I wish I had a picture. It's great that Lindsay & Clark worship with us, & not only that- they are super adult volunteers with the youth group. They lead the 9th grade small group on Sunday mornings & they went to Winterfest with us. Anyways, we had a great time, but while we were enjoying our evening at their house sweet Miss K decided to do some furniture climbing & pulling up. Well, she bonked... and bonked hard. She got her first black eye. I felt so bad for her. We had to put an ice pack on her eye to try to take down the swelling. Here is a picture from the next day:
I mean, I guess black eyes are things that happen. I think we are in the "rough & tough" age. Kennedie is such a little adventurer. She wants to do it all, & ends up falling... alot. Normally she's good after an initial cry of shock. I guess that this may be the first of many black eyes to come.
This past weekend was SUPER FUN! We drove with the Kimberlins (John, Crysty, & Eli) to Lubbock for some great memories with the Claytons (Daniel, Natalie, Kason, & Max). The boys got to enjoy a round of golf on Friday while we girls hung around the house with the kiddos prepping for Kason's super cute "Round" birthday party. (Natalie did a great job with the decorations!)
Friday night was a surprise for Daniel. Natalie set up a surprise 30th party for him at a super yummy steakhouse. We got to enjoy a night of adults only. Kennedie stayed with a "real" (not her grandparents) babysitter for the first time with Kason & Eli.
Saturday we got to spend some time with another friend in Lubbock, Delwyn. It was great to catch up with him. Then Crysty & I went to Natalie's baby shower for baby Max. We unfortunately we did not get to meet baby Max yet.... he is still in the NICU. (Please continue to lift up baby Max in prayer.) Shortly after that we loaded the car & headed back to Dallas. Of course the only picture I happened to take all weekend was of the sweet kids together. (Hopefully the next we take of them will have baby Max in it too!) On a side note it was so hard to get all the kids in a picture together.... they are all mobile now & most definitely have a mind of their own. Here are a few attempts:
This next one you can see that K's black eye is getting better. She looks so big here:
In home news, Kennedie finally figured out how to "draw" on her magnetic doodle pad all by herself! This was on Monday, so you can see how the black eye is coming along:
Today after her bath she had some crazy hair, and then while Mommy was trying to take a picture of the crazy hair she decided to show off her crazy "crawl away from Mommy" moves (black eye still around, but getting better):
I'll just leave you with some cute ones from this afternoon:
