7 Months

WOW!!!  My baby is now closer to being one years old rather than a newborn!  Where does the time go?!  Every day is a new blessing with my sweet little Miss Kennedie, & I praise God daily for the joy that this little girl has brought to my life.

My precious little girl:

-You seem to come more into your own personality daily.  You are so animated & have lots of fun expressions.  You seem to take after me because you talk so much!
- Your hair is getting so long & it seems to be staying blond.
- You can sit up all by yourself & rarely tend to bonk over.
- You are SO CLOSE to crawling.  You get on your knees propped up on your arms, & wiggle, but you have not quit figured out how to move yourself.
- You roll over very easily.
- You pull yourself up on everything.  Today Daddy had to lower your bed so that you won't pull yourself up and over your bed.... REALLY? Are you getting that big?!
- Your eyes are still very much blue.
- You have stayed overnight with your Momma D & Cowboy- not just one night, but six!!  (Mom & Dad went to Maui [post coming soon.])
- You are a VERY picky eater.  Most of your friends gobble all food put in front of them, but you don't like most things.  You will only eat rice cereal, avocados, bananas, prunes, & puffs.
- You are still working on different sounds, but you have said : "mamamammama" & "dadadadada" which we like to think you are talking to us.
- You love to smile & giggle.
- You are still breastfeeding 5 times a day, & still in 3- 6 month clothing.
- You weigh 14.1 pounds (fully dressed).
- You like to make a coughing sound.  You think it is so funny!
- You still love Cooper (our dog) so much!  He comes into the room & your face lights up!
-You sit in the grocery cart when you go shopping with me.

Oh my sweet, sweet little angel, I love you so much & have enjoyed watching you grow & discover new things.  When I am away from you my heart aches from missing you so much.  You are a joy in my life, & a constant reminder of God's great love for His children.  I only wish time did not go by so quick & that time could slow down just a little for me to love on you even more!  I love you baby girl!

Early Christmas

Last weekend we got to celebrate Christmas early with some of Lantz's family.  We made a quick trip (less than 24 hours) to Abilene for some fun times.  I got several pictures, but wish that we would have gotten pictures of everyone there.  It was so fun to watch Kennedie open all her presents... it was like she was a natural... it's like she knew that she was supposed to rip into them.  I can't wait for many more fun times like this!  Enjoy all the pictures:

6 Years!

6 Years ago today I was blessed enough to marry my best friend.  Life has brought us even closer now, & I'm grateful every day for the blessing of my husband.  He is a true follower of our heavenly Father & an amazing dad because of the the love for HIM that overflows for our sweet little girl.  I am truly the luckiest girl in the world.

I love you Lantz!

Meeting Santa

Earlier this week Kennedie got to meet Santa Clause & his lovely wife.  It was fun to introduce Kennedie to Santa for the first time.  I am thankful that she was in a good mood when we met him!

Don't you just love this time of year?!

So much to say....

... probably will forget something.

Life has been a little crazy around here through Thanksgiving.  We had such an amazing past few weeks, but I have not documented one thing yet.  I have several pictures to share from the last few weeks, but I have also forgotten to take pictures of things over the last few weeks too.

First thing, a few weeks ago Kennedie got a treat when her Binky & Pop (Lantz's mom & step dad) came to stay the night with her.  She got so much attention & it was so fun!  Lantz smoked some ribs & pork loin & it was SO good.  We got to go with Binky & Pop to Ikea (LOVE Ikea--so much fun!) to help pick out new cabinets for their kitchen they are working on.  (This would be a great place to put a photo, but I didn't take one.)

That weekend after we went to Ikea we got to go to Dallas to watch our nephew Braxton play football.  He is in the Pop Warner league & his team was playing in the playoffs.  They have not lost a game all season & it was so much fun to go & watch his talented team play.  They will be leaving this next week to go to Florida to play in the National game.  I really think that they will win!!!  Go Braxton!!!!! I did get a few pictures of Braxton playing & then a few of Lantz, Kennedie, & Mikalie (our niece) in the stands.  (Unfortunately I have no pictures of the rest of the other 9 family members there watching.)

I also forgot to tell about Kennedie's 6 month doctor's visit.  Well, we have a long & lean little girl.  She is 26 & 1/2 inches long which puts her in the 75th percentile, & she is only 13.3 pounds (6th percentile). So.... she is a tiny little thing.  Our doctor wants me to try to start feeding her more solids along with her breast milk.  So she was eating 2 servings of solids a day & our doctor wants me to feed her 3 solid servings a day.  So we are doing that now, but sometimes she is not interested in any more food, so we don't force it.  I figure if she is hungry she will eat.... she is just built tiny.  Speaking of food, she did like sweet potatoes a few weeks ago, & now she will have nothing to do with them.  She HATES peas.  She likes avacodos a whole lot, which makes me happy for some reason.  Today at lunch she tried bananas & she seemed to like them a whole lot.  I think she liked the bananas because the Puffs she has been eating are banana flavored & she loves those Puffs.  I think bananas & avacodos will be great in her stocking.  She LOVES, LOVES, LOVES rice cereal.  She downs rice cereal like crazy-- opens real wide & smiles real big while eating it.

Thanksgiving week we also got to meet up with some good friends.  Lantz was very blessed to make such awesome friends while at LCU & we got to see a few of them over break.  Of course, we get to see John, Crysty, & Eli all the time now that we live here in Texas, but Daniel, Natalie, Kason, & "Baby On the Way" all live in Lubbock so it was a treat for all of us to be together.  It was the first time that all our kids were together, & boy was it so much fun.  Kason is a little older, so he was on the move all night & being so funny!  It was great to get to be with such awesome friends during this time of being thankful.  You'll notice that Kennedie is a typical girl & can't make up her mind..... she is so funny.  In one picture she sure is falling all over Kason totally intrigued by him & then she is holding Kason's hand & in another she sure is mad that Eli is not paying her attention & then she sure does have her arm around Eli..... but I'm pretty sure her Daddy hold's her heart right now!  Hopefully they'll all be good friends like their parents!

We had the teens over at our house for a devo for the first time.  We invited both middle & high school students which resulted in our house being stuffed to the brim with people.  I think we had about 50 here.  Again, I didn't photograph the occasion.

Heather came in over Thanksgiving which was such a treat for us.  Bless her heart the first day she was over hanging out with Kennedie & me she got really sick & ended up barfing several times.  Mom had to come over & take care of her & then take her to my parents house so she wouldn't get K sick.  K never got sick thank goodness.  Anywho.... so Heather redid my hair while she was here which was great cause I needed some new color and a nice trim.  She is really talented!  It's so nice having a stylist in the family.  So Heather hung out quit a bit at our house which was so great.  Her boyfriend Ellis came in later during the week too.  He is fun, so it was nice to get to see him again.  I got to take a few pictures of them & Ellis' dog, Boone, while they were in town.

So Lantz and I had been training the last month or so for the 8 mile Turkey Trot.  I really don't know how I got roped into it, but I was training my heart out with Lantz for it.  The most I had ever run in October was 3. 2 miles and that was for my 5K, so 8 miles seemed ridiculous to me.  So just to let you know we did not run in the Turkey Trot..... we actually started a new tradition and ran in our first ever Howard Family Run.  The Turkey Trot would have cost us close to $60 to run, & if I am being honest money is tight right now & we are on a budget.  One income does not provide opportunities to be frivilous with what God has blessed us with, so we decided that no matter what- rain or shine- we would get up Thanksgiving morning & run our own 8 miles.

Well we did it!!!  We actually ran 8.2 miles & I'm so proud of us... well really me cause Lantz is awesome and has run a 1/2 marathon before.  The most I had run before Thanksgiving morning was a little over 6 miles, so to add an extra 2 miles was awesome! But, it was SOOOOOO COLD on Thanksgiving morning.  We really didn't want to run, but we knew that if we had spent $60 to register for the Turkey Trot we would have run, so nothing was going to stop us!  We even ran off & ran back to the house twice to get more clothes cause we were cold.  It was so cold too, that instead of pushing Kennedie in the Bob her Aunt Feather got up early & came over to watch her.  (Notice in the pictures below that I even made race numbers for us!  Our race numbers were our favorite scriptures!)

Thanksgiving was a true blessing this year.  We were able to spend it with family for the first time in 5 years.  After our big run we went to Momma Jean & Poppa's house (my dad's parents) for a big, yummy Thanksgiving lunch.  And this would be a great time to show you pictures except that I don't have any from the day.  On Friday we went to my parents house and enjoyed a nice lunch with them & my sister & Ellis, & then later that night we met up with Papa & Nana (Lantz's dad & step mom) for dinner.  Again, I don't have any pictures to share.  Then, on Saturday we went over to Baba & Ooh-Daddy's house (my mom's parents) for lunch.  Luckily I do have a few pictures because Aunt Darla said something about taking some pictures.  Here are a few from Saturday's Thanksgiving:

So, I feel like this was the longest post of my life.  If you actually read all of this- then you are a trooper.  Sorry it was kind of an overload.  I just had so many things going on I hadn't really had a chance to post, but I wanted to get it all on here for documentation & memory sake.  Hope you had a great Thanksgiving & are getting your house all warm & cozy for Christmas.  Lets see if I can stay on top of this whole blog thing.  Chow!
