Fall

So fall in Texas has been wonderful so far! It is so neat to be back home & watch the seasons change. Lantz & I were talking the other day about how pretty it is to get to see trees & leaves change. It's the small things that you don't realize that you miss about a place until you come back.

Two weeks ago we had some great new friends at church treat us to a night out. They took us out to eat at a nice Mexican food place in Dallas called Javiers & then they took us to see Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, & Larry the Cable Guy. It was so funny! We had an incredible time with some incredible people! Thanks again Jim & Amy!

We left Kennedie at Cowboy & Momma D's house & she was in for an extra special surprise cause her Aunt Feather was in town too. So of course I know that Kennedie didn't mind at all that we went out without her cause she got plenty of lovin. Her Aunt Feather spoiled her a little cause she bought her a few presents. She got her the CUTEST things ever- a new bib that is very vintage looking with a peace sign that says "Born Free," an adorable little owl onesie, & amazingly cute leg warmers. I am now OBSESSED with leg warmers for Kennedie. They are so fun & make life so much easier.... who needs pants? They are so functional cause it makes changing her diaper so much easier & they grow with them better than pants. Her leg warmers she can wear until she is 24 months.... they will last much longer than a pair of pants. Anywho, so I've bought her 2 more pairs. I really think she could use a dozen more.... AWESOME! I am thinking stocking stuffers for her in the future.

Here is a picture of Kennedie with her Aunt Feather (and her super cute leg warmers!):

Lantz and I also took Kennedie to a Pumpkin Farm last weekend. It was a bit over priced & a little too much for her right now cause she is just too young. They had a petting zoo (which she seemed to enjoy- she loves animals-- she is obsessed with Cooper), a hay ride, and of course pumpkins. It was a fun little family day, but I think next year will be better. Here are a few pictures from the day:

Finally, this past Sunday our church held it's Fall Festival. It was so much fun- lots of bounce houses, pumpkin carving games, train ride, hamburgers, games, & trunk or treating. Here is a picture of us all decked out in our costumes (I'm a hippie, Lantz is a referee, & K is a dragon fly):

And finally just a few cutie-patootie pictures of Kennedie. Our sweet friends Daniel & Natalie got Kennedie the cutest pajamas ever. She has been wearing them to bed, but I decided that they were way to cute not to be an outfit.... so she sure did wear them to church on Sunday. And might I add that she got so many compliments!! How can you not love a ruffle bootie??

5 Months

(I made her cross onesie! Isn't is cute??)
I cannot even believe that it is time to write this post. There is just no way that my little Miss Kennedie can be 5 months old already!

Oh sweet little girl how you continue to melt my heart. You are getting SO big and yet you are still so small. You are coming into your personality every day. Your daddy & I love being a family of three & we just can't imagine our lives without you. Here are some interesting tidbits about you now:

- You can almost sit up by yourself.
- You rolled over from your back to your belly for the very first time this morning.
- You like to eat a little extra at bedtime. So not only do you breastfeed, but we also heat up a bottle of 2-3 ounces frozen breast milk for you.
- You are still wearing 0-3 month clothing, but you are slowly making your way into your 3-6 month clothing.
-You are still not a big cuddler. When you get tired you like to be laid down & not held.
- You are smiling & laughing like crazy. You really like to laugh when we we scare you in your stroller or when we make your stroller go bumpity bump.
- You are now strapped into your Bible class seat (with a blanket stuffed down the back) instead of sitting in your car seat.
- You are still just eating breast milk.
- You drank your first sip of water out of an Ozarka water bottle the other day. You really liked it.
- You enjoy swinging at the park (very slowly & carefully).
-You grab your toes all by yourself & play with them. Sometimes they really fascinate you.
- Your eyes are still blue.
- You are not teething yet, but I think you are trying to.... so maybe soon.
-You LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Cooper. You always want to stare at him & see what he is up to.

My sweet Kennedie I can't tell you how much I love you & how much joy you bring to our lives daily. You are a true blessing sent from God & we are so grateful that we are your parents. My heart swells with love when I think of you. Thank you for being you & enriching our lives!

Run, Game, K

This weekend I completed my very first 5K run. This may not seem like a big deal to some of you, but to me it is. You see, I hate to run. No really. It is not fun. The only reason I do it is because when I finish running (any distance), I feel like I've really accomplished something. I feel worn out, and therefore, I feel as if I've burned a zillion calories & lost 20 pounds all in one "session." So yeah.... I ran a 5K. It was for the Children's Medical Center Red Balloon Run. I ran it in 29 minutes.... which is REALLY good for me (maybe not for you, but for me it is). While preparing for the 3.2 mile run my best time was 31 minutes, so to beat it by 2 minutes felt great! Not so great that I really want to do it again, but we'll see. (Lantz didn't take a picture of me running. Sorry to disappoint with no photo.)

Friday night we went to the Celina vs. Van Alstyne football game. WOW! It feels great to be back in Texas & to feel the hype of Texas football. There is nothing like Texas football in Las Vegas. We tried to find it, but it wasn't there. It was so fun to cheer on several of our students on both sides & to watch/listen to some of our students in the band. I'm not going to lie, we have some pretty talented kids in our youth group. It was also neat to go to the game because like 6 of our other students from other schools came out to watch with us. So fun! Kennedie did great! We stayed for the whole game & even got pictures of some of the kids after the game. Here are some of the kids (I think we are missing like 7 or 8- we couldn't find them after the game):

And finally, the moment you've all been waiting for.... pictures of our sweet little girl. Does anyone else have a camera obsession for your child? I also have a hard time picking pictures to post up. It seems that I always get a few good pictures that are very similar, but K may be making a slightly different face, & so I can't seem to ever pick just one.

Catch Up

So I thought I'd catch you up a bit on our happenings lately. Thursday was Lantz's official birthday & he turned 30! We didn't do a whole lot because we had his surprise party a few weeks ago. Kennedie & I gave Lantz 3 pictures in frames of us for his office & we bought him a new pair of jeans for work. That night we also went to dinner at Chuy's Tex Mex..... yummo!!! They had excellent food-- I really enjoyed the homemade flour tortillas!

Friday & Saturday Lantz & I enjoyed some lazy days relaxing around the house & playing with our sweet little girl. Saturday night we hung out with the 6th & 7th graders for a fellowship night.

Sunday kicked off our first week of small groups. We split the teens into groups of 10-14 students with adult facilitators & for the next 10 weeks they'll stay in these groups as we go through the book Crazy Love & look at scriptures that challenge us to be authentic with our faith & not be lukewarm Christians. It was a great morning!

Sunday afternoon we went over to my Aunt Danice's for some cake & ice cream. We celebrated my cousin Brian's birthday & his daughter Brinlee's birthday. It was fun! It was Kennedie's first birthday party invite.

Sunday night we were invited to join an adult small group since we had the night off with the youth group. It was an awesome night! Everyone in the group either has a baby right around Kennedie's age, or they are pregnant! Super fun!

And now the moment you've all been waiting for.... pictures! Here is one of Kennedie & Lantz on Lantz's birthday & then the rest are from our lazy day Friday hanging outside!
