Yes.... our little girl is already 2 months old!!! I can't believe how fast time flies.... especially lately. Our sweet little girl loves to smile so much now.... it's so fun & totally the highlight of my day. She also likes it when I hold her up & let her practice standing. She is also totally loving it when I hold her over my shoulder now & walk around. Kennedie also loves trying to hold her neck up.... she is enjoying practicing sitting in the bumbo with mommy close by. She is such a good little girl! Two nights ago she slept all the way through the night for the first time- from 9:45 pm to 6:00am & she did the same last night! WHA-WHO!!!! She is especially being spoiled now living so close to family..... we all are!
I'm sorry I haven't been around much... and I can't promise anything more right now. Life has been so crazy. Our moving hasn't been anything less than a whirl wind. We are just now trying to get settled in to our adorable little house we are renting. We are almost done unpacking, but we have lots to hang on the walls, a yard to get in order, Walmart trips to be made, phone calls to make, sleeping to fit in, & etc. We still feel like we have full plates, but it is a huge blessing as we feast upon life right now. It has already been a joy to be here in McKinney, and we have hearts filled with gratitude to the Lord for bringing us here.
Forgive me for being absent in the past few weeks & the weeks to come..... I'll do my best.
Oh.... and I have not done any blog reading either- so I'm really behind on all your lives, but will set a time soon to sit down & do some reading!
A month or so ago I won a giveaway from the adorable little store called Two Little Tots. I wanted to share with you what I got, cause it is all so CUTE!!! If you are looking for some great gifts then this might be the place for you. I won 3 messy hair clips, a crayon roll, and a pencil roll. The bows are great cause I can clip them on a headband right now for Kennedie, and when she gets older I can just clip them in her hair (I also really like them for myself). The crayon roll & pencil roll are a little "big" for her right now, but I can just imagine throwing them in a bag to take to church, or to a restaurant, or over to someone's house.... they are so functional- I always hated it when I was growing up and the crayon box ripped & it sent those crayons everywhere-- now Miss K won't have to worry about that.
Here is K sporting all her new goods:
Again... everything is super cute from Two Little Tots--- go on over & check it out!
And just for fun- here are some of Miss K from this week:
Sporting her orange & yellow (orange is her daddy's favorite color):
Here is Kennedie meeting her friend Lauren for the first time (Lauren is 2 months older than Kennedie, & we will miss her & her family very much when we move to Texas):
Kennedie loving her WubbaNub--- best invention ever... I'm thinking of getting her another one, I can't decide between the longhorn or the giraffe:
And this may be my all time new favorite picture of my sweet girl. This was the first time she sat in her Bumbo chair & she LOVED it.... so adorable:
Tomorrow Kennedie will be 7 weeks old! Crazy how fast time flies. She is smiling so much more now & it's fun to see her sweet personality forming. She smiles so big when I change her diaper & it is a messy one... it's like she is saying , "Ha! You have to clean the mess up!" She also likes to lay on her side. She will roll herself on her side all on her own, & her neck is getting so strong. She likes to hold her neck up all by herself when I try to burp her. You can see for yourself how strong her neck is getting from the picture above. Wow.... where is my little baby going & who is this adorable little girl!?!
Last week we were in Texas, & besides interviewing at High Pointe we also got to see lots of family..... lots of family that hadn't meet Kennedie.
Kennedie got to see her Cowboy & Momma D (my parents), her Aunt Feather (my sister), her Ooh-Daddy & Baba (my mom's parents), her Poppa & Momma Jean (my dad's parents), her second cousin Mikala (my cousin), her great Aunt Danice (my mom's sister), her great Aunt Darla (my mom's sister), her second cousins Crista & Bryson (my cousin & her son), Ms. Rebecca (my best friend), her Binky & Pop (Lantz's mom & step dad), her Papa & Nana (Lantz's dad & step mom), her Aunt Kristal (Lantz's sister), her Uncle Mike (Lantz's brother-in-law), her 3 cousins: Braxton, Cason, & Mikalie, & loads of other people who we unfortunately didn't get pictures with.
Kennedie also got to have her first swim with her Aunt Feather & Momma D.
I also got to celebrate my 27th birthday with a family bbq- it was just pouring down rain (see pictures of Lantz & dad trying to grill under the umbrella while it was pouring down!).
Kennedie also got to experience her first plane ride. She did great! I tell you - we have one great baby-- she practically slept the whole way there & back. One funny story is that on the way back to Vegas she pooped her pants really bad & it ended all over the front of her & her outfit & I have no idea how that happened.... she was sitting up. And of course I'm by the window & Lantz is in the middle so I had to change her diaper & clothes & everything right there in my lap... talk about a tight squeeze. It was disgusting & funny all at the same time!
It was a great trip home.... but here are the pictures to prove it:
Well, in the last post I mentioned that I had some exciting news to share....
LANTZ GOT A JOB IN TEXAS!
Lantz was recently hired at the High Pointe church of Christ in McKinney, TX as their youth minister. Lantz is really thrilled about this position & can't wait to begin working along side the other ministers. He has such a desire to help guide the teens at High Pointe & partner with the parents to do Kingdom work there in McKinney.
We are super pumped up about this opportunity that God has provided for our family. It has been a strange 3 weeks, but God is always faithful & continues to provide.
As many of you know McKinney is my hometown & so we will be very close to almost my entire family, & Lantz's family is only 1- 3 hours away. What an amazing opportunity we will have to raise our sweet little girl close to family.
Lantz will start at the church in McKinney very soon. We are looking to be out of Vegas by the end of the month, so needless to say our life is crazy right now.
Please pray for our family as we transition into this new journey for the Kingdom.
