6 Months

Surely I'm not really typing about my baby girl being 6 months old!  There have been times in my life where I have felt that time goes by fast, but none of that compares to having a child.  Since having sweet Miss K I have a new appreciation for time & how precious it truly is.  Our lives truly are just vapors, & we must make the most of every single day.  I feel so blessed that I have the privilege of staying home with Kennedie & that I have an incredible husband who is willing to work hard & make material sacrifices with me in order to allow me to be home with her.  God is so good.

My sweet little girl:

- You can now sit up all by yourself.  You are almost a professional, but you do still "bonk" every now and then.
- You sit in your high chair now, & you are now eating small amounts of rice cereal & sweet potatoes.  You just tried sweet potatoes for the first time a few days ago.  You are still not so sure what to think about them.  You eat them, but you tend to make yucky faces while eating.
- You are still breastfeeding 5 times a day.
- You have discovered your bows.  I thought that just maybe my little girl wouldn't discover how to pull her bows off, but you have.  You will pull them off every now and then, but for the most part you still wear them without realizing they are there.
- You smile & giggle all the time & your daddy & I will pretty much do anything to hear that sweet, sweet little laugh.
-You say, "mamamamamamma." I like to think that you are saying, "mama," but I don't think you know what you are saying yet.  (Hey a momma can dream, can't she?)
-You go in for your 6 month doctors appointment tomorrow.  We'll find out how much you've grown.  I am guessing you are up to 14 pounds- your dad thinks you are 13 & 1/2 pounds.  We'll see.
- You actually enjoy playing with toys now.  It's fun to see your little face light up when something makes noise or lights up.
- You still have your blue eyes.
- You finally have one little, itty, bitty fat role on your upper thigh.
- You are now wearing 3-6 month clothing.
-You are not crawling or "scooting" yet.  You are so close, & I can tell you want your body to "move it," but it's just not cooperating yet.

Oh sweet, sweet little girl...... I love you so much.  I can't imagine my life without you!  You have brought so much joy to our little family.  I can't wait to see what new things you will discover & to watch you to continue to grow!

Here are a couple of more pictures from last this week:

Ife's Wedding

Not this past weekend, but the weekend before that we had the privilege of going to my sweet friend Ife's wedding.  It has been such a blessing to be back in Texas so that we can share life with friends and family again.  I know I keep saying that, but it is so true.  I really did not realize how much I missed out on being so far away from family & friends.

Ife (one of my best friends from college) married Barri, who is such a sweetie.  Lantz & I got to meet him about a month ago at their shower.  So fun!  They really do seem perfect for each other.  The wedding was in Houston, so Lantz & I drove down to College Station on Friday to spend the night with Lantz's sister & her family.  It was so fun to see our sweet nephews & niece.  We got to be there for Cason's birthday & so we had cupcakes to celebrate.  Saturday we drove from College Station to Houston for the wedding & the reception & then headed back to McKinney at about 9:30 that night.  It was a whirlwind of a weekend, but it was so much fun!  Let me just say that Ife looked INCREDIBLE & I'm so glad that I got to share that special day with her & Bari.  Here are just a few pictures from that night:

This past weekend was just as much fun & I was just as much blessed.  Lantz & I took 27 of our youth group girls to Abilene for the West Texas Girls Conference.  It was an amazing weekend.  I was so glad that I got to bond some with our girls here & share in new memories with them.  We have such special girls here & I feel so blessed to have a calling to work with them.  The theme was Crave; craving the Word, craving sharing the gospel with others, & craving an intimate relationship with our Father.  Awesome weekend!  Kayci Ross was the speaker & she did fantastic!

A highlight from the weekend was getting to see my sweet friend Laura.  I have not seen Laura in 5 years!!!!  Laura was another one of my very best friends in college, & I hadn't got to see her since moving away 5 years ago.  It was not only special to get to see her, but also to meet her precious little girls Reese & Lucy.  I feel like I know Reese & Lucy because I read Laura's blog & see pictures of them all the time, but meeting them in person was so special.  They are so pretty in pictures, but they are even more gorgeous in person!!  They were so sweet & even though we literally only got to see them for 20 minutes- it was so special to me!  Here are some pictures of our girls together & one of Laura & I holding each other's babies:

Thursdays have become such a blessed day for Kennedie & me.  Thursdays have become Momma D days.  It's so nice to live so close to my parents & have a whole day that we are able to spend with mom.  Some days we go run errands together, or hang out at the house.  Last week was so great cause I was dealing with a cold & so mom came over to play with Kennedie while I just got to lay around & try to get better.  Here are some pictures from last Thursday:

In other news Kennedie can now sit up all by herself.  It's so fun to let her sit up & play with toys all on her own, but it's also kinda sad, because it is another phase of her life gone & just another sign of how big she really is getting.  And because of this new accomplishment she now sits in her high chair & sits in her Bob stroller without the car seat.  (In adult news, Lantz & I ran 5 miles after the picture was taken of her in her Bob.  Lantz has convinced me to run with him in the 8 mile Turkey Trot.... we are in training.)

I also need to upload pictures from Ife's wedding in Houston last week.  Hopefully I'll get those up soon!

Halloween Weekend

Last weekend was Kennedie's first Halloween & it was full of excitement! She started out Saturday morning with her first try of rice cereal. She did not particularly like it that morning, but we tried again Sunday at lunch, & she really seemed to like it a whole lot. So we've been having a little every day after our late morning breastfeeding & a little more after her evening breastfeeding. She has really been doing great with it & smiles & laughs alot while she eats, so I think that she is liking it. Here is a picture of her first try:

Saturday afternoon Mark & Beth, & John, Crysty, & Eli all came over to hang out for the day. We really had a great time & are so excited to be close to friends again. We are on a monthly rotation of getting together, & I love it! I think Kennedie is also really enjoying spending time with Eli. Each time I think they have more fun together! Here are some photos from the day:

On Halloween I took Kennedie around to some family members houses. The little dragonfly visited her great grandparents Momma Jean & Poppa, and Ooh-Daddy & Baba. She also visited my Aunt Danice & Uncle Mike, and of course she went and saw her Momma D & Cowboy. Momma D & Cowboy had a special Halloween package for her too! Here are some pictures:

And just for fun a few more pictures:
